The Moon Dances with the Planets

If it is clear the next two evenings, there will be a beautiful gathering in the western sky just after sunset. If you can, step outside around 1/2 hour after sunset and look to yoru west. There you will see the slim crescent moon nestled between the planets Vanus and Saturn.

Tonight the moon lies closer to Saturn, and tomorrow evening the moon glides past both planets and stands to the east of Venus.

During the week the moon ‘grows’ in phase, and moves through the sky to the east. In the beginning of next week the moon will travel south of the planet Jupiter in the southeast sky.

This is just a few of the wonderful things visible in the night sky, if you take the time to go out and look.
